They returned several years later to what became George Air Force Base to raise their family. She worked all of her life and joined the federal civil service during World War II at the then Victorville Army Air Force Training Command where she met her future husband, Charles. She was a resident of the Victor Valley for nearly seventy years. Growing up in San Gabriel with her family she enjoyed the pleasures of the garden, excelled in school and was a caregiver to her beloved sister.
